Hexoskin Unveils Smart Tools for Connected Health & Patient Remote Monitoring

In 2013, Hexoskin launched a unique solution that revolutionized how we monitor cardiac, respiratory, activity, and sleep data with sensors embedded in a comfortable and machine washable smart garment.

Hexoskin was the first smart clothing compatible with the iPhone. We also opened our API to allow developers and researchers to leverage the value provided by our solutions.

Today, the Hexoskin Connected Health Platform is an end-to-end solution that offers leading-edge sensors, software, and data science tools. It is used by researchers, public and private organizations, athletes, and users who value precise, accessible, and useful health data.

The Hexoskin Connected Health Platform is currently used for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence research and projects that will change how patients receive care. Here is an overview of the Hexoskin Connected Health Platform.

The Hexoskin Connected Platform is a powerful, yet flexible option that can fit any project sizes. Try it today ! About Hexoskin
Founded in 2006 in Montreal, Carré Technologies Inc. (Hexoskin) is involved in the development of non-invasive sensors, software & applications, data science & AI services. Hexoskin’s mission is to record and organize personal health information and make it accessible and useful.

Hexoskin, a non-invasive system, used to monitor sleep and save costs

As seen in the AARP document, The Longevity Economy – How People Over 50 are Driving Economic and Social Value in the U.S., ‘’early experiments also indicate that Hexoskin may facilitate remote monitoring/telehealth—in uses ranging from ambient assisted living (AAL) to sleep health (Banejee, T. et al., 2015) (…) This reduces both public and individual healthcare costs, and is minimally intrusive for patients.’’

Hexoskin is the only clinically validated system that continuously
records ECG with respiratory lung functions and daily/sleep activities. It is used more and more to assess sleep quality at home and in clinical studies. In fact, all the data recorded with Hexoskin are important to consider when it comes to wellness and longevity.

Sleep disorders can have a dramatic impact on a person's health. According to the American College of Cardiology, obstructive sleep apnea affects more than 12 millions American adults which most of the time aren't diagnosed. The relationship between sleep disorders and cardiovascular diseases is well documented.

Quotes

“Astroskin is a perfect example of how our government works with small, innovative, Canadian businesses on space technologies that lead to commercial versions for use by Canadians.”

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development

“Astroskin may have many applications on Earth, such as medical monitoring of those confined to their homes by illness, people living in remote areas with limited medical access, and those working in hazardous environments. It is another in a long list of space technologies brought down to Earth for all of us.”

The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport

“Our team is proud of the role we are playing to support human space travel. One day, thousands of space travelers bound for Mars will need simple reliable medical systems to ensure their health. Deploying our wearable sensors and software to the ISS is significant as this represents the ultimate remote patient monitoring scenario. The findings from tracking the health of astronauts will be used to make our healthcare system more accessible and support new home care and telemedicine services.”

Cold weather will never be a good excuse anymore

You asked for it

Over the past few months we've had lots of happy users ask us to add sleeves, a collar, and why not, make the shirt warmer.

(drum roll, please)

We're pleased to announce that we were able to do all 3, giving birth to World's first cold weather smart shirt: the Hexoskin Arctic! And, since we're never afraid of taking on life-threatening challenges, we've even thrown in a couple of thumb holes for your comfort.

So, what's new in this shirt?

Apart from the obvious sleeves and collar, we've used a new textile, once again from Italy, that offers comfort similar to Merino wool. The fabric itself is based on research on polar bears' fur and how they trap heat between their skin and their fur. The textile we use does the same, while allowing natural evaporation of perspiration: absorbing very little water, the fabric dries rapidly, while keeping the body temperature constant. This reduces energy consumption to a minimum and improves athletic performance. As said above we've also added thumb holes and a zipper to the pocket, and of course the shirt is still machine-washable and very resistant to pilling and abrasion. You'll love it!

Limited edition, order now!

We're only going to produce a few hundred pieces of this limited edition cold weather smart shirt, so don't waste any time, order yours today! We're including a complimentary Hexoskin running hat in the first 20 orders.
