Today we are pleased to welcome Team Canada Olympic bobsledder Justin Kripps to the Hexoskin family! We are looking forward to developing our partnership with him in order to help him enhance his training, monitor his recovery, gather vital data during his training and sleep sessions, and ultimately, help him learn more about himself. In the meantime, we invite you to learn a little more about Justin Kripps:
Born in Hawaii and raised in British Columbia, reigning Canadian bobsled champion is currently ranked 5th in the world for 2-man race, and 7th for 4-man. Beginning his athletic career as a high-performance track and field athlete at the varsity and national levels, Kripps was invited to a bobsleigh testing camp in August 2006, and quickly discovered his love for the unique winter sport.
Having recently departed for training in Europe, Justin is preparing for his next BMW IBSF World Cup events and World Championship events, held in Switzerland and Germany, respectively, this coming February. A dedicated leader, Kripps moved up to the pilot seat after competing in his first Olympic Winter games in 2010 in Vancouver-Whistler. After just two seasons competing in the World Cup, Justin qualified his sled for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, where he finished as the top Canadian in the 2man.
Though he races for Team Canada, Justin maintains that his love and attachment for Hawaii remains unbreakable – he named his two sleds after the Hawaiian goddesses Poliahu and Pele, and carries a piece of Hawaii with him in his sled for every race.
