Congratulations to all cyclists who rose to the challenge of the Grand défi this week-end.

As if 1000km marathon wasn't hard enough to tackle, it rained cats and dogs 80% of the time but the brave cyclists involved prevailed and made a spectacular entry into Montreal on Sunday. Over 2 million dollars were raised for the benefit of 350 schools. What a success!

We at Hexoskin wanted to participate in some way. We equipped Pierre Lavoie's team with our biometric shirts so that their real time vital signs could be displayed on TV. As you can see on the above screenshot, the cyclist has a heart rate of 158 bpm and a breathing rhythm of 39 breaths/minute at that specific time.

Malgré les 800km parcourus sous la pluie sur un total de 1000km, les cyclistes avaient répondu nombreux à l'appel de l'athlète. D'après les premières estimations, plus de 2 millions de dollars ont été amassés au profit des 350 écoles parrainées. Cette 6ème édition est donc un succès !

Hexoskin a participé à sa manière en dotant l'équipe de Pierre Lavoie de vêtements intelligents afin de pouvoir afficher à la télévision en temps réel les données biométriques des cyclistes. Sur la capture d'écran ci-dessus on peut apercevoir que le cycliste a un rythme cardiaque de 158 battements par minute et un rythme respiratoire de 39 respirations par minute.
